Ava is one of the descendants of the Six Who Ruled. She is blind, but she can see the future, just like Nyx, her ancestor. She has a pet seeing-eye piranha named Baby. She speaks Portuguese.

In Deep Blue, Ava is first mentioned by Lena, who can't quite remember her name, but says that she wanted to pass through the river the day before Serafina, Ling, and Neela arrived. Ava is first seen when she saves Serafina, Neela, Ling, and Becca from the river ghosts attacking them. She swims the rest of the way through the Olt River with the mermaids, and the five of them arrive at the cave of the Iele at the same time. |

Ava has long black hair. In Deep Blue, it was said that she wore glasses to cover up the fact that she was blind.
